Garha police solved the mystery of 16-year old boy’s murder at the world famous tourist spot, Mandu in Dhar district and arrested the deceased’s brother-in-law, who was the mastermind and his friend in the case. The arrested brother-in-law confessed to the crime with his friend as accomplice. Both the persons were sent to jail on court’s order.
It may be mentioned that the body of a 16-year old, Atul Mishra from Garha was found in dilapidated condition at Mandu in Dhar district.
Atul mysteriously disappeared after visiting his brother-in-law’s home at Peethampur, whose body was recovered from the deep trench of Kakadkheda on June 13, 2002. As no body came to claim, the body remained unidentified and was buried by Mandu police.
Back in Jabalpur, the family of Atul Mishra, a resident of Garha near 345 JDA Store, registered a missing complaint at Garha police station. The family informed that police that Amit left the home in the morning on June 11, 2022 for shop. Later on the family came to know that Atul was taken to Dhar by his brother-in-law Abhishek Mishra.
The family also pointed towards Abhishek Mishra’s involvement in their son’s disappearance.
Taking immediate action, a team was constituted under the leadership of TI Garha Rakesh Tiwari and footages of all the CCTVs installed close to station were closely monitored. Simultaneously, Cyber Cell Jabalpur traced Abhishek’s location at Bhopal. Another team left for Bhopal and after arresting Abhishek, took him to Garha police station. During the intense interrogation, Abhishek confessed to the crime and said he took the teengaer’s body to take revenge. Abhishek informed that he and Atul’s sister had a love marriage a few years back. Atul used to make filthy and abusive comments against the woman’s character, who informed Abhishek about the same. Irked over Atul’s insulting behaviour against his wife, Abhishek decided to take revenge by eliminating Atul and shared his plan with Mayank Dwivedi. They both came Jabalpur and took Atul with them to Dhar district. After physically assaulting Atul, they threw him in the deep trench of Kakadkheda near Mandu.
On the details given by Mayank, police also recovered various belongings of Atul including his bag, Aadhar card, electronic items and marksheets from a rented house. SP Siddharth Bahuguna announced a cash reward for the team
members who cracked the murder.
