Raipur,
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Vice-President and former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh,
and Leader of Opposition in Chhattisgarh Assembly Dharamlal Kaushik on Wednesday said that the Rajasthan Chief Minister should have given a strong message post the Udaipur murder.
The CM has been callous in condemning the Udaipur murder, said the leader duo while talking to media. The arrest of the accused and reiteration by the Chief Minister appealing people to maintain peace was not enough to give a strong message, they said.
An extensive reaction of the incident can be seen across the country, Dr Singh and Kaushik said. Dr Singh said that the Udaipur incident shows how communal forces are raising their heads in the country. Comparing the incident with Kawardha, Dr Singh said that the people of Chhattisgarh are yet to forget the Kawardha violence and biased action in the matter taken by the state government. Dr Singh also recalled the letter of a senior bureaucrat of Sukma district who had pointed towards alarming increase in religious conversion. Similarly, Kaushik said that the Hindus are not safe in Congress-ruled states of the country. The way Rajasthan Chief Minister appealed to the people following the incident, it looked like he was clarifying the murder, said Kaushik. On the frequent reshuffle of top bureaucrats in the state, Dr Singh said that although it is the prerogative of the state government and its ministers, reshuffle in such a manner is surprising for him. A collector should be given at least two years to prove him/her, but here reshuffle has become a regular practice. Dr Singh also cornered the state government over Ready to Eat Scheme. He said that the state government snatched the employment of thousands of women to oblige a crorepati contractor. On Agnipath scheme, Dr Singh said that Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel showed his narrow mindset by critiquing the scheme. Once a youth wears the uniform, he or she will be tough and disciplined, but Chief Minister Baghel see them as future naxalites and it is very unfortunate, said Dr Singh. Dr Singh said that he is going to Hyderabad on Thursday as part of BJP’s Sampark Abhiyan.
