Sleuths of Lokayukta Police special establishment, Jabalpur caught Revenue Inspector and Patwari while taking bribe of Rs. 12,000 for demarcation of agricultural land at Tehsil Office in Mandla district, on Friday.
The accused have been identified as Atul Kumar Kasar (45), son of Raghuveer Prasad Kasar, posted as Revenue Inspector, Maharajpur Circle Tehsil and District Mandla and Ankut Nandan Singore, posted as Patwari Halka Maharajpur Tehsin in Mandla district.
The officers of Lokayukta police nabbed the Revenue Inspector and Patwari, when they were taking bribe of Rs. 12,000 from complainant named Anil Jain (55), son of Late Rajendra Kumar Jain, resident of Dada Dhaniram Ward, Maharajpur, Mandla.
Lokayukta, DSP, JP Verma informed that appellant named Anil Jain lodged a complaint that he submitted an application for demarcation of his agricultural land in Maharajpur Circle. He contacted the Revenue Inspector and Patwari at Tehsil Office. Revenue Inspector Atul Kumar Kasar demanded bribe of Rs. 5,000 and Patwari Ankut Nandan Singore demanded bribe of Rs. 7,000 for demarcation of agricultural land.
Taking a serious note on the complaint, Lokayukta police fielded the appellant for collecting evidences. Once the information was confirmed, Lokayukta police team led by DSP, JP Verma accompanied by Inspector, Ghanshyam Singh Marskole, Inspector, Kamal Singh Uike and team reached the tehsil office and trapped the corrupt officers while receiving the bribe money bribe of Rs. 12,000 from the appellant.
Lokayukta police have registered a case against the corrupt officer under relevant Sections of Prevention of Corruption Act while investigations are underway.
