Maharashtra Power Minister Nitin Raut said that the Vidarbha region will see seven mega projects in the coming days which are likely to generate more than 4,800 job opportunities. He said that the State has signed a memorandum of understanding with the investors at the recently concluded World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting held in Davos, Switzerland.
While addressing the gathering of industrialists and others at the Vidarbha Industries Association (VIA) here recently, Raut further said that the investors also assured to invest Rs 50,000 crore in the field of green and renewable energy in next seven years.
District Collector R Vimala; NIT Commissioner Manoj Suryawanshi; VIA President Suresh Rathi; President of Butibori Industries Association Pradeep Khandelwal; MIA President C G Shegaonkar; KIA President Amar Mohite; VIA Vice President R B Goenka; Regional Director, MSEDCL Suhas Rangari; Chief Engineer Dilip Dodake; Regional Director MahaUrga Vaibhav Pathade and others were also present on the occasion.
“It is being said that MoUs are signed at the World Economic Forum but the investors never set units. But this time it is not so. Seven investors have not only signed the MoUs but they have also started implementing it,” Raut said highlighting that Indorama will invest Rs 600 crore in Butibori which will create nearly 1,500 new jobs while GR Krishna Ferro Alloys Private Limited will invest Rs 740 crore in the steel sector and provide jobs to 700 workers. “Colorshine India Private Limited will invest Rs 510 crore in steel sector; in Umrer; Carnival Industries will invest Rs 207 crore; Goyal Proteins Ltd will invest Rs 380 crore in oil extraction; Alprose Industries will invest Rs 150 crore in textile sector in Amravati; and another company will Rs 1,000 crore in ethanol fuel in Tadali in Chandrapur,” he said. Gauvar Sarda conducted the proceedings and Dr Suhas Buddhe proposed vote of thanks.
