West Central Railway, General Manager, Sudhir Kumar Gupta inaugurated the newly-constructed 11 KV/750 volt power sub-station and 600 KLD Sewage Treatment Plant, on Sunday. On the occasion of World Environment Day, power substation at Jabalpur Coaching Depot and sewage treatment plant was inaugurated at Loco Tallaiyya for saving precious electricity and waste management to ensure environment conservation.

Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer, RS Saxena, Principal Chief Electrical Engineer, RK Gupta, DRM Jabalpur, Sanjay Biswas and other officers were present.
The 11 KV/750 volt power sub-station has been established according to environment friendly measures at Jabalpur Coaching Depot. The sub-station will check around 876 tons carbon dioxide emission every year. Sub-station’s 750 volt electricity will ensure primary and secondary maintenance of 6 LHB rakes at washing pit line 1, 2 and 3 every day. The process will save around Rs. 2.17 crore in diesel and electricity. Similarly, 600 KLD Sewage Treatment Plant has been established at Jabalpur Loco Tallaiyya. It will collect and recycle waste water from washing pit line 1, 2 and 3. Recycled water will be used at washing pit lines 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 for wagons washing and watering at Rail Saurav Garden and GM Office Garden. It will safe around Rs. 3.18 crore every year.
