CHHATRAPATI XI emerged as champions of the Shrikant Jichkar and Amol Jichkar memorial Challenger Trophy Tennis Ball Cricket tournament which was organised at Bishop Cotton ground on Sunday.
In the final, Chhatrapati XI defeated Police Star by six runs to wrest the crown.
Batting first, Chhatrapati XI scored 62 runs from eight overs. Umesh top scored with 28 runs while Govind scored 11.
For Police Star, Nuresh took two wickets. In reply, Police Star managed to score 56 runs only. Shubham, with 20 runs was the top scorer for the losing side.
Vaibhav Chandekar won the man of the series award while Nuresh Madankar was declared as man of the match.
Akshay Arsade was named as the best batsman of the series.
The prize distribution was graced by Nagpur District Guardian Minister Dr Nitin Raut. On the occasion, Rashmi Barve, Zilla Parishad President; Jiya Patel, Kamlesh Samarth, Praful Gudadhe Patil, Vikay Babre, Avantika Lekurwale, Dudheram Sawalakhe, Naresh Adsale, Kishor Jichkar, Narendra Jichkar, Prashant Satpute, Raju Jagtap, Vivek Ranade, Pramod Patwardhan, Rajesh Gawande, Hemant Wasu, Sandhya Ingle, Avinash Dorsatwar, Sunil Rawat, Ghanshyam Mange, Augustine John, Sukhdev Manohare, Dadu Somalwar, Sanjay Kadu, Baba Wakil, Aziz Khan, Mohim Kazi, Indu Thakur, Raymond Francis, Abhay Kale, Deep Dar, Girish Naidu, Balaji Iyer and others were also present.
