VEHICULAR traffic will be allowed at Raipur-Durg side of the under construction flyover at Supela Chowk in Bhilai by July month end. The officials from Public Work Department (Bridge Section) will handover the flyover side to the traffic police with completion of necessary finishing works.
The opening of Raipur-Durg side of the under construction flyover will considerably ease the traffic pressure at Supela Chowk in Bhilai. With completion of necessary finishing works one side of the under construction flyover will be handed over for Raipur-Durg vehicular traffic.
As per information the flyover is with carriage way of 16 meters and additional width of 2.5 meters for medians and crush barriers. With completion of finishing work the vehicular traffic will be allowed through Raipur-Durg side with 8 meters carriage way. The total length of flyover is 2.1 kilometers. The flyover is being constructed in the location with the budget of Rs 110 crores.
As per information in case of only LMVs and two-wheelers traffic the two-way traffic could be allowed through the flyover side.
Abhijit Soni, Superintending Engineer (SE) PWD (Bridge Section) informed that after completion of remaining works the Raipur-Durg side of the flyover will be handed over to traffic police for smooth vehicular traffic through the side of flyover. In accordance of directives the officials are ensuring works at the fast pace for early completion of the construction works.
He also informed that with casting of four remaining slabs and necessary works whole flyover will be dedicated to public by October month end.
