A 21-year-old youth died after he unknowingly consumed the rat-killer he had mixed in a packet of Namkeen to kill the mice in his house in Ashoka Garden area of the State capital. By the time he realised his mistake, he called his father and informed him about the whole incident. He immediately was advised to seek help from the local relative. On receiving the information, the relative reached and admitted the young man to the hospital, where he died during treatment. Police established a case and are investigating the matter. According to Ashoka Garden Police Station, Gulshan Dhakad was a native of Betul. He used to work in Eicher company in Bangrasia Misrod. He lived alone in the Nawab Tea Stall Ashoka Garden in Bhopal. For a few days there were more rats in his room. To get rid of rats, he used rat killer in a Namkeen packet. He spread the Namkeen across the room to kill the rats. For a few days, the workload in his company had increased, due to which he had to work extra time. When he returned home from work on the night of July 16, he was very hungry. He was falling asleep too. In the meantime, he opened the packet of Namkeen, in which he had mixed the rat poison and ate it. Later, he realised that he had eaten rat poison, so he called his father in Betul and told the whole incident. According to the father’s instructions, he called the aunt’s boy and called him to the room. Both reached to take him to the hospital, but they could not find his room, so Gulshan sent him the location from Google Map. It took more time while searching in the night, they reached his room around 4 in the morning. He was admitted to the hospital, where he died during treatment.
Police said that the poison had spread extensively in his body. Rest will be revealed from the post-mortem report.
