State will be leading in world tourism: Minister Usha Thakur

Tourism, Culture and Spirituality Minister Usha Thakur said that Madhya Pradesh will be leading at world’s tourism. For this the collective efforts of all are required. Minister Thakur was addressing the Travel Trade Meet at Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Centre. The meet was organised by the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board to make the travel agents, tour operators and hotel operators aware of the tourist destinations, to inform about the upcoming events and participation in travel exhibitions.
Minister Thakur said that on the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, spiritual tourism will have to be promoted rapidly. There are many holy and unique places in the state like ancient river mother Narmada, two Jyotirlingas in Ujjain and Omkareshwar, the birthplace of Rahu Griha Kukshi which are famous all over the world. Tourists can be attracted by showcasing all these heritage sites. Minister Thakur said that the State has more potential than other states of the country. Along with natural tourism, there is also historical and archaeological tourism, religious, wellness, rural and responsible tourism. All these possibilities will have to be worked on with mutual co-operation.
Madhya Pradesh is ready to host G-20 and Pravasi Bharatiya Sammelan: Principal Secretary Shukla Principal Secretary, Tourism and Culture Department and Managing Director, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board Sheo Shekhar Shukla said that Madhya Pradesh is going to host two international level events in the year 2022-2023.
First Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Indore and second G-20 meeting. The responsibility of co-ordinating both the events has been entrusted to MP Tourism. Giving detailed information, Principal Secretary Shukla said that the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas program will be held in Indore on January 9, 2023. Thousands of NRIs will be invited in the State. There will be a big business opportunity for all tour operators, hoteliers and transporters. Along with this, India has been hosting the meeting of the G-20 countries of the world’s major economies, some of which will be held in Bhopal, Indore and Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh.
Managing Director Tourism Corporation S Vishwanathan said that new innovations have been made in the field of tourism in the state. Adequate arrangements have been made in the properties of the corporation to make the tourist experience 360 degree of tourism enjoyment. The natural beauty and jungle tourism of the state is famous all over the country. Along with this, the work of all of you is being made easier with the schemes and administrative support being run by the department. Additional Managing Director of Tourism Board Vivek Shrotriya said that Madhya Pradesh has immense potential in terms of tourism. .Whether it is the first architectural form of Lord Ganesha in the Udayagiri cave or the huge statue of Nataraja in Vidisha. There are many such destinations, which are widely publicised through all of you, then these areas will also be added to the tourism map. During this a Q&A round was held, in which the tour operators gave their expectations to the tourism board and also suggestions for improvement. Deputy Secretary Tourism Sunil Dubey, Deputy Director of Tourism Board Yuvraj Padole, Deepika Chaudhary, Umakant Choudhary and other senior officials were present in the programme.
