Bajaj clinch LIC bridge title

 

 

 

BAJAJ, led by Puranik brothers Vishnu and Arun, RP Deshpande, Sameer Roy, Anil Mohota and M Luley emerged champions in LIC Open Annual Duplicate Bridge Tournament organised by Vidarbha Bridge Association in their sports complex at Shankar Nagar on Sunday.

In 50 deals contest, played across 5 rounds of 10 boards each, Bajaj earned 78.06 VP and seized the top spot. Team Aquarians finished runners-up with a tally of 61.13 VP. Their performance came from teamwork displayed by S Watwe, AK Das, G Dutta, Mandape and S Khanzode.

In 24 deals pairs event played on Saturday, Arun Puranik and Anil Mohota emerge winners with 69.06 MP. DK Dutta and PN Dixit finished runners-up with 66.98 MP. Sameer Roy and Amit Rewatkar were the Tournament Directors for this brain game.

Pranay Kumar, Sr Divisional Manager, inaugurated the tournament. B Raut Marketing Manager, Kiran Makode, Abhay Pande, Ram Mandavkar, Raju Dudhankar, Hari Sharma, Ashok Chandak and Smita Mahurkar and members of LIC Sports and Recreation Club were present.
