Adding fuel to the war going on among Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders on social media on the defeat of party’s Mayoral candidate Dr Jitendra Jamdar in the recently held Jabalpur Municipal Corporation (JMC) elections, another party leader, who is near to the National President, on Thursday posted comments questioning fielding of Dr Jamdar in the election.
It may be noted that the internal conflict in the saffron party exposed after the result of JMC election. Nobody is speaking anything openly, but party leaders have started expressing their feelings about defeat of party’s Mayoral candidate on social media. On Wednesday, two senior leaders of the party had heated exchange on social media, while joining the bandwagon, another BJP leader posted comment intensifying the on-going political slugfest.
It may be noted that Jabalpur is also considered a big loss to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s image as he made several visits to the city, even took public rallies in fovour of the Mayoral candidate. Therefore, Dr Jamdar’s defeat by a huge margin of over 44,000 votes cannot be taken lightly.
The blame game which has erupted in the party since defeat of Mayoral candidate has surfaced the infighting of party leaders. There is a continuous message war going-on in social media regarding the same. In the series, messages about taking responsibility for the defeat of Mayoral candidate are going viral. Right from BJP veterans to senior leaders, workers and office bearers, all become active on social media and venting their anger.
Party leaders are also questioning why party’s candidates who were in the fray for post of Corporator got success in ensuring win in 44 out of total 79 wards and Mayoral candidate didn’t get votes from the wards. It seems that political slugfest is not going to stop early.
