AFTER postponing the tournament thrice, the Subroto Mukherjee Cup Football Tournament will get under way from Saturday, July 23 at Divisional Sports Complex, Mankapur, Koradi Raod.

The tournament was first scheduled for kick-off from July 14 and then from July 16. But rains forced District Sports Office to put off the meet. It was decided to conduct the inter-school meet from Wednesday but once again rains played spoilsport.

However, with the weather getting better, it was decided to organise the inter-school competition from Saturday.

On the opening day, Under-17 boys’ matches in the rural category (schools outside city limit) will be held.

Bhonsala Military School, Bokhara will take on Delhi Public School Mihan at 9 am.

In the other match of the day, Delhi Public School, Kamptee will meet Marie Poussepin’s Academy at 10 am.

Podar World School, Koradi Road will lock horns with Ira International School at 11 am.

BKCP, Kanhan will take on Modern School, Koradi in an afternoon match.

Podar International School, Besa will lock horns with Indian Olympiad School Bhilgaon while SFS English Medium School Nimkheda will clash with Delhi Public School, Lava, Dabha.

Similarly, Edify School Kamptee will meet Mount Litera Zee School, Kamptee while MH Sancheti School Besa will meet Devine Providence School Butibori. K John Public School, Asoli will clash with St Joseph’s High School, Fetri in the evening session.
