A delegation of Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce (NVCC) recently met Commissioner of State GST Rajeev Kumar Mittal during his visit to Nagpur GST office. On the occasion, the chamber represented various issues related to GST and VAT before the Commissioner. Swapnil Ahirkar, Vice President of NVCC, represented the mood of traders on levy of GST on food items and requested to withdraw the same. Due to the levy of GST on food grains, inflation would further rise and the common man would suffer a lot. CA Ritesh Mehta, Executive Member and Tax Committee Convenor of NVCC, requested the Commissioner to issue a circular for taking a lenient view while doing scrutiny and audit of GST taxpayers as in the initial period a lot of taxpayers have made mistakes in filing GST returns. Goldy Tuli requested to make GST compliance simpler by auto matching of input tax credit, reducing rate of interest on delayed payments of GST. The Commissioner gave a patient hearing to the issues and assured of all possible cooperation and support to the taxpayers of Maharashtra.
