TWO persons, including a juvenile delinquent, brutally killed a 58-year-old man over liquor at the house of a property dealer in Pardi area on Tuesday night.
A resident of Plot No 254, Maa Ambe Nagar, Pardi, Nemlal Patiram Gade succumbed to his injuries on way to a private hospital. Cops arrested accused Vinod alias Guddu Toran Nirmalkar (32), also a resident of Maa Ambe Nagar, near Nagoba Mandir, and booked a 17-year-old boy in this connection.
Property dealer Mukunda alias Baba Shriram Matey (39), a resident of Plot No 198, Maa Ambe Nagar, opposite Gupta Electricals, and Nemlal Gade purchased fish from the market. After returning home, Matey asked Gade to cook the fish. Meanwhile, Matey received a phone call from his friend Vijay Gulhane who allegedly invited him for a drink. Matey left the house telling Gade that he would return within half-an hour. Matey, Gulhane, Nirmalkar and one Yuwraj Vaidya purchased liquor from a wine shop. They went to Lakhan Saoji Bhojnalaya at Subhan Nagar and enjoyed liquor. Matey, Gulhane and Vaidya then left the eatery. Matey returned to his house. Nirmalkar contacted Matey and asked him as to why he left him alone. He asked Matey to come and pick him up.
When Matey refused, Nirmalkar and the boy in conflict with the law came to Matey’s house and thrashed him after an argument. Gade, who was cooking fish in the kitchen of Matey’s house, heard an unusual commotion and came out. Before he could intervene to settle the issue, Nirmalkar pushed him aside. As a result, Gade fell down and suffered serious injuries as his head hit the edge of an iron gate pillar. Nirmalkar and the boy then kicked Gade on his left chest and fled the spot.
With the assistance of his neighbours, Matey rushed Gade to Bhavani Hospital in an unconscious state but on the way, he succumbed to his injuries. Cops sent Gade’s body to Mayo Hospital for post-mortem. Following Matey’s complaint, Pardi Police registered a case under Sections 302, 452, 504 and 34 of the IPC against Nirmalkar and the boy.
