Raisoni Group bags contract for co-branding Ngp railway stn; Baidyanath for Wardha stn

Central Railway’s Nagpur Division is off to a flying start on the front of non-fare revenue (NFR) as it becomes Indian Railways’ first to award contracts for co-branding of stations to local players. Raisoni Group has bagged contract for co-branding of 44 stations, including Nagpur railway station, while Baidyanath Group has womn contract for 10 stations, including Wardha, in the e-Auction held on July 4 and 5.
After Railway Board floated policy for co-branding of stations that would allow prefixing or suffixing of name of sponsor, several local industries were approached by Commercial Branch team that explained to them the benefits.
The Ministry of Railways issued detailed policy guidelines on station co-branding and award of all commercial NFR assets through e-Auction mode to bring in transparency and efficiency in Railways’ assets monetisation.
CR’s Nagpur Division scheduled the first batch of 54 stations for e-Auction in four clusters and offered it for open bidding for participating brands. City-based ayurved major Shree Baidyanath Ayurved Bhawan bagged rights for 10 railway stations while GH Raisoni University will co-brand 44 railway stations, including Nagpur railway station. The stations bagged by Raisoni also include Multai-Morshi-Warud section and Chandrapur Balharshah section of Maharashtra and Junnardeo-Parasia section of Madhya Pradesh.
Shree Baidyanath Ayurved Bhawan wins co-branding rights for Sewagram-Wardha-Pulgaon-Dhamangaon section of Maharashtra. Formal contract in this regard was awarded by Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Richa Khare to Shruti Singhal Sharma, CEO, Shree Baidyanath Ayurved Bhawan, and Aditya Bhandari, Executive Director, Raisoni Group of Institutes.
CR’s Nagpur Division would generate Rs 1.34 crore from these contracts over a period of three years.
Further, the division has also scheduled 36 stations including Ajni, Hinganghat, Wani, Warora and Khapri in Maharashtra and Amla, Betul and Ghoradongri in Madhya Pradesh in three clusters for auctioning scheduled for July 20, 21 and 22.
As per the clause of contract, the winning group can suffix or prefix its brand name at the station. However, the same should not be more than two letters. Similarly, the group can also display its logo or name on the name plates of the station.
Commercial team of the division, led by Krishnath Patil, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, and Vijay C Thool, Divisional Commercial Manager, along with Tara Prasad Acharya, CCI (NFR), were instrumental in identifying, promoting and creating awareness about these never explored assets of Indian Railways. The team provided support to participating brands which materialised into the first over Indian Railways’ Contract allotment.
