Freedom

The word freedom has many shades to its context and form. For some, getting away from responsibility is freedom, while for others being empowered with skills is freedom from the shackles of helplessness and weakness. It all depends on how one sees the world with one’s perception, prudence and knowledge. The zeal to fly high in the sky comes from an inner motivation that drives one to break strenuous barriers of self-praise, adamancy, arrogance, egoism, and complacency. Yet, for those who are easy-going, the world reverberates with one common goal ‘go and get it.’ The psyche behind celebrating the sentiment of freedom is generally related to the environment and surrounding we live in. From time immemorial, freedom is liked and loved by one and all. For, it gives us inner happiness in accomplishing what we want to do in a true sense.

The purpose of freedom for every individual varies with age, time and situation. Freedom for a child may be to choose what he wants to eat or play or learn on his own. The freedom to laugh and cry loud. The freedom to say ‘no’ when not in mood to cooperate. Freedom for an adult may be to work in an environment that gives him a free will to make suggestions, give opinions and take decisions. The freedom to work in his own style under the umbrella of ‘rules’ that are not seen with the naked eyes. The freedom to take the reign of leadership in all times without any hitch of getting caught in times of crisis. The freedom to have the freedom to say no to things that are undesirable. The freedom to air emotions and expecting the solution to be inevitable.

These wings of freedom are bound to take one to the limitless skies. Contrary to this comprehension, we are living in a society where we circumambulate around circumstances which push us towards situations that snatch freedom of peaceful existence. Though the outcome of this situation is the ultimate rebellion shown to the society, it also severely affects the freedom of an individual to live in tranquility. So, let’s keep the extraneous pressure of the world away and rejoice in the air of freedom spread across the country woven in threads of courage, bravery, heroism, love, devotion, patriotism and most important oneness. Salute to the spirit of this oneness through these mesmerising lines - Mera mulk mera desh mera ye watan Shanti ka unnati ka pyar ka chaman Iske waaste nisar hai mera tan mera man Ae watan, ae watan, ae watan Janeman, janeman, janeman... Jai Hind!
