‘Akhand Sankalp Tiranga Yatra’ swimmers brave raging Narmada

The enthusiasm of citizens of Sanskardhani to celebrate ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ was palpable with ‘Akhand Sankalp Tiranga Yatra’ group on Sunday. The swimmers of the group swam from Jilahri Ghat to Tilwara Ghat by holding the tricolour in their hands without even thinking of the situations in the raging Narmada river especially during the monsoon.
Akhand Sankalp Tiranga Yatra Group Co-ordinator Sanjay Yadav Ashok Grover, Vivek Yadav and Deepak Asrani informed that the group has completed its 13 years of taking out Tiranga Yatra a day before the Independence Day .i.e on August 14 every year. For the consecutive 13th year around 300 netizens along with the group members swam from Jilhari Ghat to Tilwara Ghat with holding the national flag in their hand on Sunday.
It may be noted that ‘Akhand Sankalp Tiranga Yatra’ group has been taking out this Tiranga Rally since past 12 years, on the day prior to the Independence Day. The group has large number of participants including women, youths, children and senior citizens who swim to awaken the feel of national pride.
The members informed that this year due to Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav and Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan, the initiative of Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, hundreds of people joined the group and swam in the Tiranga Yatra for the nation.
This year the Tiranga Yatra has taken a grand form with the special participation of District Collector Dr Ilayaraja T who reached Tilwara Ghat by swimming and holding the tricolour in his hand.
