Rivers and streams are overflowing in Madhya Pradesh. In view of the possibility of rain, the Meteorological Department has issued a flood alert in some areas of eastern Madhya Pradesh on Sunday.
Senior meteorologist Ved Prakash Singh said that from Monday a low pressure area will start forming in the Bay of Bengal. Due to this, heavy rain is forecast across the state on August 15. Heavy to very heavy rains are expected in 24 districts including Bhopal-Indore. In such a situation, the administration has also come on alert mode. Indore, Ujjain, Shajapur, Dewas, Dhar, Ratlam, Sehore and Jhabua districts come in eastern Madhya Pradesh.
The sun continued to play hide and seek throughout the day in many areas of the state. In the afternoon, there were light showers in many cities including Bhopal. Sidhi received a maximum 1 inch of rain. Rain occurred at isolated places in Damoh, Narmadapuram, Rewa, Jabalpur, Bhopal, Khajuraho, Satna, Gwalior, Naugaon, Mandla, Ujjain, Sagar, Indore and Betul. Light rain fell in many parts of the state.
During the last 24 hours, the maximum rainfall in the state was 2 inches in Sagar and Seoni. One-and-a-half-inch rainfall each in Mandla and Sidhi, one inch each in Maljkhand and Damoh, half an inch each in Bhopal, Umaria, Guna, Pachmarhi and Rewa. Light rainfall occurred in Ujjain, Narsinghpur, Narmadapuram, Ratlam, Raisen, Khajuraho, Chhindwara, Naugaon, Datia, Gwalior, Betul, Dhar and Indore.

Apart from this, light to heavy rain may occur in Katni, Jabalpur, Sagar, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Betul, Harda and Narmadapuram.
