Durg,

Meanwhile the State Disaster Response Force Team on Tuesday also rescued three persons from village Arasnara.
It is worth mentioning that on Tuesday water was flowing around 8 feet above from the British era old over bridge while the water level on Mahmara Anicut was also above 14 feet.
Due to the increased water level in the river, the people were also affected as the water reached upto Ganjpara Chowk where the administration has to erect barricades to stop the people from using the road. Meanwhile the water from the swollen Sheoanth River has already submerged the adjoining residential areas near Thakur Hotel and the Pulgaon Basti too was submerged in water. Similarly, water up to 4 feet has been gathered near Jalaram Vatika and it has worried the residents of adjoining Mahesh Colony.
Similarly, the Muktidham road has also been submerged into water while Potiya nullah is also over flowing due to
continuous rains. A petrol pump situated near Pulhaon Chowk was also closed due to water stagnation there. People from adjoining villages including Changori, Belaudi, Kotni, Peeperchedi, Mahmara, Khada, Ruda, Bhothli etc have also been affected. It should be noted here that more than 12,000 cusecs of water has been released in the Sheonath River from barrages including Mongra, Kharkhara, Mohandipat etc due to which the water level in the river has considerably increased.
