Fifty-six students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) at village Chindpali in Saraipali under Mahasamund district has been found infected from coronavirus.
The Chief Medical and Health Officer of Mahasamund Dr S R Banjare has confirmed the detection of 56 positive cases from July 25 to August 1 and the treatment process has already commenced.
Apart from the 56 positive cases, the cases are expected to further rise from the samples collected on Tuesday and sent for testing. Meanwhile, treatment is being provided to the infected students under the supervision of local administration and team of doctors in school. The team from Health Department are in the school to monitor the management and proper treatment of the students. Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr H R Banjare said that all arrangements have been made and the COVID-19 infected students are being treated in the school itself. The Principal of the school has been instructed for closing school as a preventive measure. The team of doctors are stationed in the school and providing best treatment to the COVID positive students, who have mild symptoms, he added.
According to the Health and Family Welfare Department, three deaths of Corona positive patients, one each in Raipur, Durg and Raigarh was recorded in the state on Tuesday. A total of 595 positive cases were detected across State with Raipur recording the highest of 135 cases with overall 652 positive patients. Durg has 435 positive patients followed by 296 overall cases at Rajnandgaon as on Tuesday.
Apart from Bijapur and Sukma districts, all other districts have existing cases.
