MOHLA-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki, carved out of Rajnandgaon district, will come into existence as 29th district of Chhattisgarh on Friday. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will inaugurate new Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki district at Mini Stadium Mohla at 1 pm on September 2. Culture Minister Amarjeet Bhagat will preside over the programme. Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki has been carved out of Rajnandgaon district and it is being recognised as a new district administrative unit. After the historic announcement of making this area a new district by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel there has been a wave of joy in the remote forest areas of Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki. This area has been affected by Naxal activities for a long time. With the creation of MohlaManpur-Ambagarh Chowki as a new district, the administration will reach these areas closer and the pace of development works will increase. With the efforts of State Government, development works in these areas are being carried out in the field of health, education, food grains and road connectivity. This area is full of natural forest resources. Minor forest produce is abundant in the dense forests in Mohala-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki region. The geographical boundaries of Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki are bordered by Tehsil Chhuria of district Rajnandgaon in north, Tehsil Durgkondal, Pakhanjur district of Kanker in south, Tehsil Daundi, Daundi Lohara of Balod in east and Maharashtra in the west. The new district Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki will be under Durg division. The number of tehsils in Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki is 3 in which there are Ambagarh Chowki, Mohla and Manpur and Development Blocks and Janpad Panchayats are Ambagarh Chowki, Mohla and Manpur. The total number of villages in Mohla-ManpurAmbagarh Chowki is 499. The geographical area is 2,14,667 hectares. The total population is 2,83,947 in the new district. Total population of scheduled tribes is 1,79,662 which is 63.27 percent of the total population of the new district. The number of Revenue Inspector circle in the new district is 13 and the total number of Patwari Halka is 89, 185 Gram Panchayat, 9 police stations. There are two assembly constituencies and 497 polling stations in the new district. In the new district Mohala-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki, there are 158 villages in Ambagarh Cowki, 171 villages in Mohla and 170 villages in Manpur. The geographical area of this new district is 54,747 hectares in Ambagarh Chowki, 70,301 hectares in Mohla and 89,619 hectares in Manpur. There are 1,08,334 population in Ambagarh Chowki, 86,994 in Mohla and 88,619 in Manpur where there is 52,786 scheduled tribes in Ambagarh Chowki, 60,950 scheduled tribes in Mohla and 65,926 scheduled tribes in Manpur. The percentage of scheduled tribes is 48.73 in Ambagarh Chowki, 70.06 in Mohla and 74.39 per cent in Manpur making it a tribal dominated district. In the new district, the number of Revenue Inspector circle is 5 in Ambagarh Chowki, 4 in Mohla and 4 in Manpur. In new district, Patwari Halka number is 33 in Ambagarh Chowki, 28 in Mohla and 28 in Manpur. There will be 69 Gram Panchayats in Ambagarh Chowki, 59 Gram Panchayats in Mohla and 59 Gram Panchayats in Manpur. The distance from Rajnandgaon district to Ambagarh Chowki is 50 km, 75 km to Mohla and 100 km to Manpur. In the newly formed district, there are two police stationsAmbagarh Chowki and Chilhati Police Station under Ambagarh Chowki. Under Mohla, there is Mohla Police Station while there are 6 police stations- Khadgaon Police Station, Manpur Police Station, Kohka Police Station, Sitagaon police station, Madanwada Police Station and Aundhi police station under Manpur.
