A MAN climbed on extra-high tension tower (EHT) in Bhilai-3 and threatened to commit suicide after his wife refused to return with him from her maternal home.

The man’s stunt led to tense moments, but police somehow managed to convince him and he finally climbed down safely. Manish Sharma, Station House Officer, Purani Bhilai Police Station informed that at about 8:30 am on Tuesday, Horilal Pardhi (30), a resident of Devgaon, Raipur arrived in Ganiyari, Bhilai-3 visited Ganiyari, Bhilai-3 to her in-laws place but after sometime climbed EHT, while threatening suicide. After information a Purani Bhilai police team reached the spot and somehow managed to convince him and he finally climbed down safely. SHO, Sharma told the newspaper that Horilal Pardhi made this move because his wife refused to return with him from her maternal home and her father was also supporting her. He also informed that the police advised the family for sorting domestic issues amicably or seeking competent counseling for the same. He also added that it did not amount to any legal action.
