Accepting the fact that the enthusiasm in workers has gone down which was more when Party was sharing power in Maharashtra, Dilip Walse-Patil, former Home Minister and Nagpur’s Contact Head of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) said, “I have to work on it to recharge the party workers in city.”
Walse-Patil was in Nagpur to review the party’s progress here. He convened meetings of the party workers, Heads of the various units, office-bearers where he interacted with them eyeing for Nagpur Municipal Corporation polls.
While talking to ‘The Hitavada’ Walse-Patil said, “The Party workers looked passionate when we were in power. The enthusiasm has faded. Of course we have taken note of it and will try to ignite the minds of our workers again.”
Walse Patil who has recently been appointed as Working Committee Member of NCP in national body, has number of times said in recent past, NCP is preparing itself to go solo in Nagpur Municipal Corporation provided the alliance among Mahavikas Aaghadi did not work. On Friday also he reiterated Party’s stand.
“We all --NCP, Shiv Sena and Congress (the constituents of MVA) are willing to contest Nagpur Municipal Corporation polls together. At the same time we have asked our party workers to have high preparedness if we decide to contest on our own,” Walse Patil made it clear.
NCP has brought itself up when it was in power. After collapse of MVA Government whose NCP is the constituent, the enthusiasm in the party has become invisible. Walse Patil agreed that he first has to make party workers start involving themselves in a proper way in party activities. Walse Patil feels contesting polls would be the first step towards creating congenial atmosphere for the party here.
