Senate members led by Adv Manmohan Bajpai had lodged complaint with Chancellor, Higher and Technical Education Minister regarding certain alleged irregularities. Accordingly Chandrakant Patil, Minister of Higher and Technical Education had a meeting with Adv Manmohan Bajpai and others. On the instructions of Patil, Government had constituted a committee of Ajit Bawiskar that came to Nagpur. According to Vice Chancellor Dr Subhash Chaudhari, most decisions were taken in earlier regime so blame could not be put on his alone.
It all began with the dissolution of adjourned senate meeting of March 21, 2022 which the Senate members had called illegal. Members lodged the complaint and demanded that enquiry should be conducted into the entire episode and action should be taken against the Vice Chancellor.
