3 arrested for spate of thefts, booty recovered

The police, on Thursday, cracked as many as four big robberies reported under Sanjeevani Nagar Police Station and also arrested three robbers along with stolen gold, silver jewelery and electronic items worth Rs 7 lakh.
The police have arrested the accused, Pawan alias Akash Thakur (24), resident of Kishan Talaiya, Damoh, Abhay alias Rakesh Vishwakarma (28), resident of Jatashankar Colony Damoh district and Deepak Tekam (23), resident of Patel Mohalla, Bargi. These accused have been arrested in four burglary cases registered at Sanjeevani Nagar Police Station under Section 457 and 380.
The police have seized gold jewelry weighing 102 grams, silver jewelry weighing 500 grams, one vehicle, cooler, TV, mixer, sound system, laptop, iron, iPad, gas cylinder worth about Rs 7 lakh.
Senior police officials informed that all three accused were living in a rented house and were running a Paan shop and a Chinese food kiosk. They used to carry out thefts by targeting locked houses by roaming around in the night.
It may be noted that to curb the theft incidents, SP Siddharth Bahuguna had directed all senior police officials and Station House Officers to conduct intense interrogation of robbers who have been released from the jail and who were caught in the past. He had also asked for investigation of their source of livelihood and recovery of stolen goods.
In compliance of the order, a team comprising ASP Sanjay Agarwal and CSP Samar Verma, CSP Pratishtha Rathore, SHO Sanjeevani Nagar Shobhana Mishra, In-charge Police Post Dhanwantri Nagar SI, Satish Jharia arrested three accused of robbery and seized stolen goods worth about Rs 7 lakh.
