While discussing various issues related to the industry, Joint Director Technical – MPCB, Mumbai V M Motghare, said that the long pending demand of common effluent treatment plant (CETP) at Hingna Industrial Area will soon be a reality. He said that the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) will also help the industry resolve all other problems associated with pollution and environment.
He was interacting with the members of the Vidarbha Industries Association (VIA) and industrial fraternity at VIA Auditorium recently. “Any problem related to environment and pollution will be dealt in a special meeting of Joint Action Committee which will be held on third Saturday of every month wherein all the stakeholders and industrial associations,” he said. He further said that industry is the backbone of the economy which generates revenue for the state as well as generate employment.
Dr Y B Sontakke, Joint Director – MPCB, Mumbai highlighted the programme of water pollution and waste to wealth so that new ideas of young entrepreneurs and start-ups could come up. He emphasised on the circular economy in recycling for a sustainable environment. During Q&A session issues like fly ash, EPR, plastic waste management act, power plant, pollution, heavy penalty on delay of renewal of consent by industries were discussed.
Earlier, R B Goenka, Vice President of VIA welcomed V M Motghare with a floral bouquet while Swapnil Ahirkar from NVCC welcomed Dr Y B Sontakke, Joint Director – MPCB, Mumbai. Girdhari Mantri, Chairman – VIA CSR Forum conducted the proceedings of the event, moderated Q&A session and also proposed a formal vote of thanks.
