Om Amar Krida Mandal men and Ravindra Krida Mandal, Umred women emerged champions of the Subhash Mandal organised kabaddi tournament on the occasion of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s anniversary.

In the men’s final, Om Amar Krida Mandal defeated Saptrang Krida Mandal 41-27 while in the women’s section, Ravindra Krida Mandal, Umred beat Shree Sai Krida Mandal, Katol 45-15 to emerge winners.

Earlier in the semis, Om Amar Krida Mandal beat Vidyarthi Krida Mandal, Raghuji Nagar 44-11 while Saptrang KM beat Ganesh Krida Mandal 50-24. In women’s event, Ravindra Krida Mandal beat Gajanan Krida Mandal 48-28 while Shree Sai beat Sangharsh KM by 37-27.

All the winners and runners-up teams received cash awards from ‘The Hitavada’.

Awards: Men: Man of the series: Ritik Chitale. Best raider: Prajwal Mahale; best catcher: Suhas Gore; man of the match: Abhishekh Nimbalkar.

Women: Woman of the series: Prachi Baghel; best raider: Ulkat Lokhande; best catcher: Manasvi Moinkar; woman of the match: Tannu Thakre. Rishabh Borkar, Pratik Savant, Deepak Pandre, Rahul Bhadekar, Aditya Porvel, Prashant Bawane, Rohit Rohat, Bharat Shahu, Aditya Dambhare, Saurabh Ranatavare, Lucky Gedam, Abhishekh Shahu, Gogini Gaharwar, Mangla Dhawale, Ragini Jivtode, Varsha Chavhan, Khushi Karanke and Sakshi Trivedi were also rewarded.

Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University Vice-Chancellor Dr Subhash Chaudhari was the chief guest of the prize distribution function. Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s Sports Officer Dr Piyush Ambulkar was also present. Subhash Mandal President NB pal presided over. Manoj Sable, Dr Santosh, Babubhai Patel, Shripat Burde, Vasudev Kadam, Vasudev Garware, Shalikram Arbat, Shivajirao Ahirrao, Suresh Mahalle, Nanabhau Pal and others were also present. Sandhya Ingle and Vijay Bante conducted the prorgamme while Vasanta Deothakale proposed a vote of thanks.
