With the announcement of Assembly poll dates, the district election machinery came into action mode and increased it’s activity. The district administration has started taking steps to conduct free and fair elections. For effective monitoring, 26 teams each of flying surveillance teams (FST), static surveillance teams (SST) and videography have been formed to ensure compliance with the code of conduct and to monitor those violating Section 144 and other activities in the district during the Assembly elections. All these teams will keep an eye on the assemblies 24 hours in three shifts. District Election Officer and Collector Ashish Singh has issued orders to all the officers of the district in this regard.

During the Assembly elections, 26 teams each of FST, SST and videography team will keep an eye on the rules of Code of Conduct and Section 144 in Huzur, Berasia, Narela, Govindpura, Central, North and South-West Assembly constituencies of the district. The Collector said that a special team has been formed in collaboration with the Excise Department to arrest those smuggling illegal liquor. We have given instructions to surrender weapons. During the elections, there is a possibility of misuse of loudspeakers by political parties and individuals in election campaigning and use of loudspeakers as weapons to disturb public peace. For this purpose, Bhopal district has been declared a silence zone. With a view to prevent noise pollution, this order has been issued under the Madhya Pradesh Noise Control Act in public interest. Public use of loudspeaker amplification devices will be completely prohibited in the district from 10 pm to 6 am.
