Additional Director General of Police (Jabalpur Zone), Umesh Joga (IPS) chaired a meeting to review law and order arrangements in the districts during festivals and State Assembly Elections, on Friday. Addressing the meeting, ADGP, Umesh Joga directed the officers for ensuring maintenance of law and order arrangements during forthcoming festivals while special security arrangements should be made for strict enforcement of Election Model Code of Conduct and ensuring prompt action on directions issued by the Election Commission and Police Headquarters. Police must put-up vigilant check on use of illegal fire arms, liquor trade, narcotics trade and transportation. ADGP, Joga also instructed the officers for apprehension of absconding criminals, listed criminals and anti-social elements for maintaining law and order arrangements during festivals and election.
He sought information from police officers about situation of critical and vulnerable polling booths in their respective areas and instructed them for paying special attention on enforcement of model code of conduct. Police should also be alert for maintaining communal harmony during Dussehra, Dhanteras, Diwali and other festivals and checking spread of rumors During the meeting, DIG, Jabalpur Range, RRS Parihar, Officiating SP Jabalpur, Priyanka Shukla (IPS), Additional SP, Kamal Mourya, Additional SP, Summer Verma, Additional SP, Sonali Dubey, Additional SP, Suryakant Sharma, Additional SP, Pradeep Shende, CSPs and DSPs were present.
