Another key accused of Mahadev OnlineGambling App nabbed at Mumbai airport

IN ANOTHER major development linked with Mahadev Online Gambling App, a team of Pratapgarh district police from Rajasthan arrested Mrigank Mishra from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) in Mumbai. Mrigank Mishra is learnt to be a key aide of Saurabh Chandrakar, one among the two key operators of illicit online gambling. He too fled to Dubai and joined Chandrakar, since Rajasthan police was tailing him following his involvement in a fraud case. According to information received here, the arrested accused Mrigank Mishra, a resident of Ratlam district in Madhya Pradesh, was wanted by Pratapgarh District police of Rajasthan, for his alleged involvement in a major fraud to the tune of several crores. The crime came to light, when some people filed a complaint of fraud against Mrigank Mishra with Kotwali police station of Pratapgarh (Rajasthan) in May 2023. “The complainants told the police that Mrigank lured them in the name of government schemes and made them open bank accounts, apart from SIM cards issued in their names. During this period, the unbeknownst account holders received information from the bank that transactions worth crores of rupees had been made from their accounts.
 
The victim account holders, shocked by the massive transactions being undertaken from their accounts, made the police complaint. The police investigation found that Mrigank Mishra had been doing these transactions at the behest of the victim account holders,” SP Pratapgarh Amit Kumar told the media persons. SP Kumar further said that Mrigank got wind of this and he ran away after which police raided his house in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh and also his flat in Mumbai, Octa Caste Building, Lokhandwala Kandivali, but he had vanished into thin air. “During this time, the police came to know that the accused had fled to Dubai and was operating the Mahadev app from here. The police had also issued a ‘Lookout Notice’ against him, he added. As per SP Amit Kumar, the Rajasthan Police, desperately searching for the accused for the last six months, came to know that the accused was returning back to the country from Dubai on October 14th. “No sooner, he landed at CSMIA, a team of Pratapgarh District Police nabbed him. He was later produced in a court, which granted the Police Custody Remand of Mrigank till October 21,” he added. Earlier, the police investigators have also detected 90 accounts linked to him, out of which 68 accounts were frozen by them, apart from putting a hold on an amount to the tune of Rs 3.88 crore in it.
 
In this connection, the police have already four accused Sanjay, a resident of Rathanjana, Shubham, resident of Bhatpura, Rudraksh Trivedi, Bahubali Colony, Pratapgarh and Aman Soni, a resident of Ratlam. “It was during the interrogation, the four accused divulged information about their kingpin Mrigank Mishra. More than 20 debit cards and credit cards were also seized from the possession of the four arrested accused,” the SP Pratapharh told the mediapersons. Pratapgarh SP Amit Kumar also affirmed during his interaction with the media persons Mrigank had been operating the Mahadev online betting app while living in Dubai. “He used to run and operate the online betting syndicate along with his aides in India. He is being grilled to ascertain his association and acquaintance along with the modus operandi of running the illicit app in connivance with Saurabh Chandrakar, one of the promoters of illegal gambling app, who is currently in Dubai,” the SP added.
