RAIPUR,
BJP’s National Vice-President and former Chief Minister, Dr Raman Singh submitted his nomination papers for the Assembly elections from Rajnandgaon constituency. Dr Singh is one of the four candidates who filed their nomination for the first phase of elections, covering 20 Assembly constituencies. Apart from the former Chief Minister, other BJP candidates who submitted their nomination papers on Monday include Geeta Ghasi Sahu for the Khujji constituency, Bharat Lal Verma for Dongargaon, and Vinod Khandekar for Dongargarh-SC.
In an impressive show of support, Dr Raman Singh was joined by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who flew in for the special occasion, as well as state party leaders and a multitude of party workers. Together, they stood by the veteran leader as he formally sought re-election in Rajnandgaon. Senior BJP leader Amit Shah was also present when three other party candidates also filed their nomination papers to contest assembly seats within the Rajnandgaon district.
After filing the nomination, Dr Singh said that the four candidates of Rajnandgaon were fortunate to have Home Minister Amit Shah having arrived to bless them. Thousands of workers with great energy participated. BJP will achieve emphatic victory in Rajnandgaon and across Chhattisgarh. There is a clear lead for BJP in all four constituencies of Rajnandgaon. Dr Singh also took a jibe at Congress candidate Girish Dewangan, saying it’s fine if Girish Dewangan is bringing party workers from outside. By the time people know about Girish Dewangan, the election will already be over.
