Union Minister of State for Food Processing Industry and Jal Shakti, Prahlad Singh Patel, on Tuesday strongly criticised the election manifesto released by the Congress Party for the Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh. While talking to the media, he said the Congress party’s manifesto is a bundle of lies and temptation. Congress has always been a party that speaks untruths and now there is no hope of change. Patel said, “While Congress has always presented manifestos, they have never turned their promises into reality. This clears that they are more concerned with self-promotion than the welfare of poor.” He said the Congress has a long history of trying to deceive the public, but they have failed to realise that the public is now well aware of their actions.

Patel said comparison of Congress’ manifesto with the policies and implementations of the BJP Government would be unfair. He said the ongoing infighting and factionalism among Congress leaders are preventing them from coming to a consensus and bringing their party to the track. Presenting this manifesto for the Madhya Pradesh is nothing but a big joke. He said the value of manifesto is evident from the way the party’s top leaders are engaged in internal conflicts.
Replying to a query on a tweet of MPCC President, Kamal Nath, Patel said the way Kamal Nath had reacted in a media statement and asked to tear Digvijay Singh and his son’s clothes has exposed the true state of the Congress leadership.

Union Minister Patel further said the schemes implemented by the Central and State Governments for the welfare of farmers, poor and women’s empowerment are living examples of public welfare. He said every scheme is reaching the last person of the society without any irregularities, while Congress is driven by the aim of appeasement. From schemes like PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi to Ladli Laxmi Yojana, all BJP Government’s initiatives have been implemented without any irregularities, whereas corruption is often associated with every Congress scheme.
