Riding high on the reent success in the Karnatak polls, the Congress in upbeat on its chances in the State Assembly polls. The party has made tall promises in its manifesto , named Vachan Patra, released by the President of Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee, Kamal Nath on Tuesday at Ravindra Bhavan auditorium in State capital. The 106-page manifesto contains 59 topics 225 main points, 1,290 promises and 101 main guarantees covering all sections of the society. It talks about from farmers, youths, to tribals and the OBCs. Kamal Nath said that this is not a only document for State but it is a future of the Madhya Pradesh. While releasing the manifesto, he said “if Congress comes to power then we will provide health insurance cover of Rs 25 lakh, which also has an accidental cover of Rs 10 lakh, for all the people of Madhya Pradesh, Old Pension Scheme, Caste Census, Nari Samman Nidhi of Rs 1,500 per month to women”. Madhya Pradesh will also have an Indian Premier League (IPL) team of the State, Nath said. He also promised to provide LPG cylinders at Rs 500, make school education free, implementation of the Old Pension Scheme and unemployment allowance for youth ranging from Rs 1,500 to Rs 3,000 per month for two years.

Will start Swabhiman Yojana for youth and provide financial aid of Rs 1,500 to Rs 3,000 to the unemployed youth of the state. Social security pension will be increased to Rs 1,200. Farmer loan waiver up to Rs 2 lakh under Jai Kisan Agricultural Loan Waiver Scheme. The amount of pension for multi-disabled people will be increased to Rs 2,000. The party will start the ‘Khushhali Mission’, Nath said, adding the party’s new slogan is ‘Congress Aayegi, Khushhali Layegi’ (Congress will come and bring happiness). Nath said that if Congress forms government in the State, then it will purchase paddy from farmers at the rate of Rs 2,500 per quintal, wheat at Rs 2,600 per quintal and the target is to take the amount to Rs 3,000 per quintal. He also promised to implement the Old Pension Scheme of 2,005 and also announced Rs 2,000 pension for ‘bahu-divyangjans’ The manifesto also includes the promise that Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra made to school students a few days ago in a public rally in Mandla. It says, under the Padho-Padhao Scheme, Rs 500 will be given to the children of government schools from class 1 to 8, Rs 1000 to the children of class 9th-10 and Rs 1500 to the children of class 11-12 every month.
The party will also implement the Panchayats (Extension to Scheduled Areas) (PESA) Act in notified tribal areas of the state, Focusing on tribal votes, the Congress also promised to raise the labour charges of Tendu leaf collectors to Rs 4,000 per standard bag. With an aim to consolidate its position among the SC community voters, the party promised to set up the Sant Shiromani Ravidas Kaushal Unnayan (Skill Enhancement) University in Sagar district of the state. Nath promised to constitute the Narmada Parikrama Parishad and start Narmada Parikrama Yatra. Focus on youth comprising a large chunk of the electorate, to fill two lakh government posts in the state and also to provide an unemployment allowance, ranging from Rs 1,500 to Rs 3,000 per month for a period of two years, as financial assistance to them. The Congress also promised to raise the monthly honorarium to senior journalists in the State to Rs 25,000 per month (from the current Rs 20,000), develop ‘New City’ (colony) in metros for them and provide them health insurance free of cost. for all sections of the society including social justice, rural development, right for a home by promising to do registration of 600 sqft of land free of cost. All senior party leaders of the Congress were present during the release of manifesto.
