“Maharashtra Government is firm on its decision of cancelling the work of private project at Ambazari. Instead, it will itself develop Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Sanskrutik Bhavan at the same place. I have personally come here to request Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Sanskrutik Kriti Samiti to withdraw the agitation,” announced Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra. On Wednesday he visited the site where the agitation was going on for the last 272 days. After his announcement, the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Sanskrutik Bhavan Kriti Samiti has suspended its agitation.
The Samiti was agitating to press the demand of developing Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Sanskrutik Bhavan at Ambazari.
The representatives from Kriti Samiti, Saroj Aglawe, Dr Saroj Dange, Sugandha Khandekar, Jyoti Awale, Pushpa Bouddha, Sushma Kalamkar, Takshshila Waghdhare, Usha Bouddha, Kishor Gajbhiye, ex-Administrative Officer and the officers Amitesh Kumar, Commissioner of Police; Dr Vipin Itankar, District Collector were present.
“State Government has already decided to cancel the private project. To remove
loophole in the cancellation
of the project, an opinion
will be sought from State Advocate General. A written order will be issued through District Collector. It will be given to Samiti,” Fadnavis made it clear.
