State Congress President and Bastar Lok Sabha Member Deepak Baij has pulled up the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after the BJP leaders had raised serious allegations against Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel-led Congress government.

In his statement, State Congress President Baij said that the BJP government at the Centre is only working for few capitalists while the Congress Government in Chhattisgarh is working for poor people and tribals. He said that the cancellation of coal mines in Hasdev Aranya area is a big victory for the Bhupesh government and a defeat for the BJP, which is standing with Adani. The Congress government in Chhattisgarh stood with the tribals and the Central Government is adamant for the profits to Adani.

 

The decision to stop mining activities in 40 mines falling in the no go area within Hasdev Aranya, Tamor Pingla and Lemru Elephant Reserve is a big victory for the Bhupesh Baghel government, he added. Bhupesh Baghel government continuously wrote letters to the central government demanding the cancellation of the mines in Hasdev Aranya area. A unanimous resolution was passed and sent to the Legislative Assembly, but the Central government continued mining activities for the commercial benefit of its capitalist friend Adani. The decision to cancel mining in that area is a victory for the people of Chhattisgarh, said Baij.
