Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its stance on farmer loan waivers and its policies regarding industrial loans. Addressing a rally at Gandhi Maidan in State Capital, the Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel asserted that the BJP experiences discomfort when the Congress enacts loan waivers for farmers, highlighting a political divide on this critical issue. Chief Minister Baghel did not mince words as he accused the BJP government at the center of waiving loans worth a staggering Rs 14.5 lakh crore for industrialists without facing public scrutiny. He expressed concerns over the potential consequences if the BJP were to return to power, suggesting that vital state assets such as the mines of Chhattisgarh and the Nagarnar Steel Plant might be privatised. The Chief Minister’s address underscored the Congress party’s commitment to fighting against injustice and oppression. He noted that this spirit of resistance dates back to the struggle for independence from British colonial rule and continues through the efforts of leaders like Rahul Gandhi and Kharge Ji, who are currently working to expose corruption and malfeasance in the nation and Chhattisgarh.

Chief Minister Baghel also raised pertinent questions regarding the privatisation of public assets, including mines, railway stations, airports, and factories, drawing attention to the ongoing debates around these issues. Reflecting on the political scenario, Baghel highlighted the success of the Congress party in diminishing the BJP’s electoral dominance, despite the latter’s 15-year rule. He emphasized the BJP’s inability to recover from the shock of its electoral defeat, describing it as an unprecedented setback for any political party in Chhattisgarh. The Chief Minister also made allegations against former Chief Minister Raman Singh, accusing him of financial improprieties related to chit-fund companies and the public distribution system (PDS). He pointed out an ironic scenario involving Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Raman Singh during which anti-corruption rhetoric clashed with historical accusations. Chief Minister Baghel also addressed the issue of intimidation tactics, indicating that Prime Minister Modi’s government employs investigation agencies such as the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Income Tax Department to instill fear. Nevertheless, he reassured the people of Chhattisgarh that their steely resolve will not waver in the face of such challenges. Raipur Rural MLA Satyanarayan Sharma, Kuldeep Juneja, Mahant Ram Sundar Das, Vikas Upadhyay, Pankaj Sharma, Chairman of the State Yoga Commission Gyanesh Sharma, Pratima Chandrakar, Girish Dubey, Idrish Gandhi, Akash Sharma, and Rajendra Tiwari and others were present. Earlier, Chief Minister Baghel participated in the nomination filing of all Congress candidates for Raipur district.
