Congress candidate from West Assembly Tarun Bhanot on Sunday conducted extensive campaigning in a number of areas in Indira Gandhi ward. He visited B T Tiraha, Ganga Sagar, Shukla Nagar, Kevat Mohalla, Narayan Nagar, Gulaua Chowk and sought blessings of denizens for victory. During campaigning, Bhanot said labourers and workers in the unorganised sector are the largest workforce in the State. However, their lives are filled with difficulties and everyday challenges due to the Government’s indifference and lack of policies regarding their children’s education, family health and livelihood. The BJP Government, which has been in power for the past 18 years has not provided any permanent solutions for the social security and respect of these workers and laborers.
He said the Congress is committed to bringing a new dawn in the lives of the State’s labourers and workers. Bhanot said in their manifesto, the Congress has made efforts to ensure active participation of the labor force in the State’s reconstruction and guarantee social security and respect. Bhanot said through the party’s manifesto, the Congress party has promised 100 per cent registration of the deprived workers under the Sambal Yojana. They will be provided a new morning under the Naya Savera Yojana, which includes a gas cylinder for Rs 500, maternity leave assistance of Rs 10,000, Rs 10,000 for funeral rites and cremation, Rs 10 lakh insurance assistance for dependents after accidental death, free treatment up to Rs 25 lakh, free education and scholarships for children, as well as priority allocation of housing for landless and homeless people.
