RAHUL Club drub Big Ben 4-1 in the JSW Elite Division League Championship being played at NDFA’s Dr Ambedkar Football Stadium in Suyog Nagar, on Sunday. With goals from Valarien Paul (18th), Sagar Chintala (30th) and Rahul Mundri (45+2), the winners led 3-0 a the breather. Post change of ends, Big Ben’s Deve Maske pulled one back in the 68th minute to reduce the deficit only to be restored by Badal Soren eleven minutes later.

 

A powerful hit by Sagar was deflected by Big Ben custodian but an alert Valarien pounced on the opportunity to score the first goal. Mehul was fouled inside the box and referee Clive Anthony had no hesitation in pointing at the dreaded spot. Sagar made no mistake swelling the lead. In the first half injury-time, Rahul scored their third goal through Mundri who made some excellent dodges from top of the D to score. On an Arjun Roka pass, Deve found back of the net to make it 1-3. Sufian made a cross from the right wing and Badal made sure the perfect pass did not go waste for the fourth Rahul goal.
