Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan filed his nomination from the Budhni constituency by submitting papers to Returning Officer R S Baghel at Budhni on Monday. Chouhan was accompanied by wife Sadhana Singh. This is the 6th time when the BJP leader filed his nomination from the Budhni seat. Chouhan is facing challenge from Congress’ Vikram Mastal from this constituency. The filing of nomination papers for November 17 State Assembly elections for the constituencies in Madhya Pradesh concluded on Monday. The Election Commission had set October 30 as the last date for filing the papers for contesting the polls.Earlier, CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan visited his village Jait where he offered prayers to Vijayasana Mata in Salkanpur and sought blessings of elders and Narmada river.
Later, Chouhan addressed a huge gathering and led a roadshow and urged people to consider themselves as Shivraj and ensure his victory on the basis of welfare works he has done in his political career. He said that the BJP will win the highest number of seats in the history of elections in the State. Chouhan said “this is my birthplace, workplace, holy land as well as motherland.” He said that he has been able to do so much work of serving the people of the State only but upcoming five years we will make sisters as well as entire State ‘Lakhpati’. Besides, Chouhan, BJP stalwart Kailash Vijayvargiya filed his nomination from Indore 1 seat.
BJP leader Vijayvargiya is contesting against Congress leader Sanjay Shukla from Indore 1 seat. Before filing nomination, he visited Khajrana Ganesh temple to seeks blessings. On this occasion he expressed confidence that the ruling party will retain power with a two-third majority in the State. The other BJP candidates who filed nominations on the last day include Alok Sharma from Bhopal North, Bhagwan Das Sabnani from South-West and Vishnu Khatri from Berasia.
