A large number of nursing and paramedical students initiated indefinite hunger strike under the banner of Nursing Students’ Organisation, at the campus of Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University (MPMSU) from Tuesday. Raising their voice to redress issues concerned with examinations and corruption prevails in the Government system, these students also remained adamant on their demand ‘Pariksha Nahin to Vote Nahin’.
Organisation’s National President Gopal Parashar informed that the students of BSc Nursing, MSc Nursing and Post Basic Nursing students are still waiting to get appeared in the examinations since 2020-21. The corrupt officials of State Government issued affiliation to the nursing colleges which did not fulfill fixed parameters, following which these colleges gave admission to the students. The case of fake affiliation is in the Court and the students have to face the burnt. Unfortunately, neither the State Government took any action against these corrupt officials nor do anything to provide relief to the suffering students.
Similarly, the nursing students concerned with 2021-22 session are still deprived of their enrolment. Hence, the Organisation demanded the State Government to immediately rectify the issue, provide scholarship to the students and declaration of results of GNM students. Otherwise, lakhs of students and their families will boycott legislative assembly elections, they warned.
