Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed bhoomipujan for Rani Durgavati Memorial and Park in the city on the occasion of Rani Durgavati’s 500th birth anniversary at Garrison ground, on Thursday. During the programme, PM Modi expressed happiness on witnessing transformation of Jabalpur, saying the city is filled with energy and the entire region of Mahakoshal is auspicious. He stressed the need of maintaining the pace of development in Madhya Pradesh and not allowing any hindrances.
 
Addressing a huge gathering assembled at the venue to catch a glimpse of their favourite leader, Modi said, “Today, I am standing here on the banks of sacred river Narmada, conveying my message to all of Madhya Pradesh, especially the youth. He said Madhya Pradesh is at a crucial juncture and any obstruction in the path of development will derail its progress. He urged everyone to keep the momentum of development going, as this is a pivotal moment for the State.” Earlier, Prime Minister Modi along with Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan reached the venue in an open vehicle, greeting tens of thousands of people who gathered at Garrison Ground.
 
Thereafter, he saw the model of Veerangana Rani Durgavati Memorial and paid floral tributes to the statue of Rani Durgavati. Expressing views on the occasion, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan praised Prime Minister Modi’s leadership and mentioned various development works being carried out by the BJP Government. He said the BJP Government has taken significant steps towards improving lives of people, including distribution of Ayushman cards that have benefited millions in Madhya Pradesh. Chouhan also mentioned successful implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. He further highlighted Swamitva Yojana, initiated by Prime Minister Modi, which grants land ownership rights to rural people. He also mentioned Matru Vandan Yojana and State’s achievements in water conservation and development of smart cities. Those who also shared the dais with PM Modi included Governor Mangubhai Patel, Union Minister of State for Food Processing Industry, Prahlad Singh Patel, Union Minister Faggan Singh Kulaste, State Minister Gopal Bhargava, BJP State President V D Sharma, Rajya Sabha MP Sumitra Balmiki, MP Rakesh Singh, MLA Ashok Rohani and others.
