“Whatever promise made was kept. It was a very old demand of yours and it was my heart’s desire that Pandhurna district should be created. Now, your demand has been fulfilled. Got an opportunity to fulfill the promise made to the residents of Pandhurna. I have no shortage of money for the welfare of public. For me, serving the public is like worshiping God.’ Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said this while addessing a public meeting organised in Krishi Mandi courtyard on the occasion of the inauguration of Pandhurna District Headquarters.
 
CM Chouhan said that on the occasion of bhoomipujan of Hanuman Lok in Jam Savli, announcement of making Pandhurna a district was made, in just 42 days, with the inauguration of Pandhurna district, the appointment of Collector-SP was also done. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced from the stage the restarting of the Kamthikalan reservoir which was canceled by the Kamal Nath government. He introduced new Collector, Ajay Dev Sharma and Superintendent of Police, Rajesh Kumar Tripathi on the stage and talked about providing better services in Pandhurna district. Also assured help from the government for the construction of the new collectorate building. He also asked for cooperation in installing the statue of Saint Jagannade Maharaj in the city. During the address, CM enumerated the achievements of Ladli Brahmin Yojana. Also accused Kamal Nath and Congress government of becoming obstacles in development.
 
Before the public meeting, the Chief Minister inaugurated the Collectorate in Krishi Mandi Office Building and handed over the charge to the new Collector Ajay Dev Sharma. Minister Gaurishankar Bisen, District BJP President, Bunty Sahu, former MLA, Marotrao Khawse, Nana Mohod, Pandit Ramesh Dubey, Leader of Opposition, Mahendra Ghode, former Municipal President, Praveen Paliwal, Senior Dada, Dharmadhikari, Prakash Uike, Govind Aggarwal, Raju Parmar and many other officials were present in the program. And the workers remained seated on the stage. Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chauhan talked about providing support to the two daughters of the doctor couple who lost their lives in the Amarwara firing incident. Blessed them on the stage and said that the mama(maternal uncle) will be the support for both the daughters. On his arrival in the newly formed district Pandhurna for the first time, Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan was warmly welcomed at every place while reaching the venue from the helipad. Various organisations, institutions and distinguished citizens expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister for making Pandhurna a district through banners and posters.
