CA Arpit Kabra, Chairman of Western India Regional Council (WIRC) of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) on Saturday said that traders and professionals in the country are grappling with the frequent changes in the GST tax system. Kabra was in the city to attend a seminar organised here by the Nagpur Branch of ICAI. Kabra further said the number of cases pertaining to non-compliance with GST rules are increasing because of the frequent changes.

Kabra felt the policy makers should give some breathing space before introducing any change. He also spoke about various technical points, which according to him, need to be addressed by the GST Council Kabra said retail traders find it difficult to file GSTR-1 before 10th of every month and GSTR-3B before 20th of every month. “We have a large number of small traders in the country who are busy in their trading activities during the first 20 days of every month. We believe that these traders should be allowed to file it later in the month,” he added. ICAI has been offering various suggestions to the GST Council aimed at making the GST system simple.

Apart from this, Kabra spoke about various initiatives of the Western India Regional Council for the CA students and practitioners. “We are guiding MSMEs and startups and helping them to flourish.
