The State leadership of Bharatiya Janata Party has on Tuesday rejected by the resignation tendered by Prabhat Sahu, District President of Bharatiya Janata Party. The State organisation has directed Sahu to shoulder the responsibility of ensuring victory of party candidates in all four seats of the city. Following the directions, Prabhat Sahu has resumed work as BJP District President. It may be noted that on Sunday last, Sahu had organised a press conference and announced his resignation from the post of District President of BJP. He had sent the resignation to BJP State president V D Sharma. The State organisation held a meeting on the matter and conveyed their decision.

The State President asked Sahu to continue the responsibility and work for the party during the Assembly elections. He conveyed Sahu that they held discussing on national-level on the issue and explained it to him. After that, Sahu agreed to continue his work on the same post. Regarding resignation, Prabhat Sahu said the organisation has disapproved the resignation and asked him to work for party candidates in all four assembly seats. Thereafter, “I am working according to the organisation’s instructions.”

It may be noted that on October 21, an incident occurred at BJP’s divisional office and a dispute arose. Some workers created ruckus at the office and reportedly vandalised party’s divisional office due to dissatisfaction with ticket distribution. Prabhat Sahu said, he was accused of causing the ruckus, while those who created scenes were allowed to have a conversation with Union Home Minister Amit Shah during his visit to the city. Now, after party’s direction Sahu has started working on the same post.
