JUSTICE Nitin Sambre has been appointed as the new Senior Administrative Judge for the Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court. The appointment, announced by Bombay High Court Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyay on Thursday, comes into effect immediately. Justice Sambre is set to assume the responsibilities at the Nagpur Bench, succeeding Justice Atul Chandurkar, who will be transferred to Mumbai based on seniority. Justice Sambre completed his school and college education at Somalwar High School and Shivaji Science College. He completed his law education at Law College in 1992. He enrolled as an advocate on August 25, 1992.
Before elevating as a Judge of Bombay High Court on January 6, 2014, Justice Sambre served as a public prosecutor at the Nagpur bench. His legal career took shape alongside Chief Justice of Supreme Court Sharad Bobde. Justice Sambre engaged in civil, writ and criminal cases. Being a sportsman, he represented Maharashtra in National Tournaments and was elected as President of Students Union of the University College of Law in 1991. He was the Secretary of the HCBA, Nagpur for 2004-07.
