VETERAN swimmers of Aqua Sports Club Anjali Gajbhiye and Nilima Dharkar brought laurels to the city by winning several medals at the Open International Masters Swimming Championship held on Dubai. Representing India, Anjali won gold medal in 200m freestyle, 100m breaststroke, silver in 100m freestyle and 50m breaststroke in age group Women 35-40 yrs. Nilima won gold medal in 200m freestyle, a silver in 100m freestyle and 50m breaststroke and a bronze in 50m backstroke in age 51-55 yrs.

 

They train under the able guidance of senior coach Dr Pravin Lamkhade (NSNIS, Patiala) and ASCA Level 5 coach Vishal Chandurkar. Mohan Nahatkar, Mangesh Gadre, Prashant Ugemuge, Preeti Lanjekar, Ashwin Janbandhu, Prabhakar Sathe and others congratulated the duo.
