NAGPUR Cricket Academy (NCA) clinched the U-14 Challenger Trophy in an exciting final played at Kurvey’s ground on Wednesday. In the summit clash, NCA edged out Dr Ambedkar Club by two wickets with two balls to spare. Ambedkar Club posted 193 for nine in 40 overs after they batted by choice. Arjun Mahajan’s fighting knock of 73 and a cautious innings from Sidhant Akhare (36) helped them post a challenging total. NCA’s Rajveer Bodne bowled well to take three wickets with good support from Aryan Singh, Divyansh Sahurkar and Ayush Dwivedi who took two wickets each.

 

In reply, NCA were cruising well with 65-1 on the board. However middle order collapse made the chase tricky. Prashant Gautam scored 51 and Aryan Singh scored quick fire 40 from 28 deliveries which turned the match in their favour. Riyansh Gupta picked three wickets while Praval Bambal took two for Ambedkar. The prizes were distributed by Gundu Joshi and Prashant Bambal. Winners Man of the final: Aryan Singh (NCA). Best Batsman: Arjun Mahajan (Ambedkar Club). Best Bowler: Divyansh Sahurkar (NCA).
