The Institute of Management Technology (IMT) Nagpur in association with Vidarbha Management Association (VMA), hosted a one-day Management Development Programme recently for entrepreneurs and senior-level personnel from various Small and Mid-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Nagpur. In his welcome and inaugural address, Dr Bigyan Verma, Director, IMT Nagpur highlighted the importance of cash flows in SMEs and set the tone for discussions. Dr P Janaki Ramudu, Dean-Academics, delivered key note address and conducted the programme. He took the participants through building and analysis of Cash Flow Statement in MSMEs. Delivering the sessions, Dr Ramudu demonstrated with examples as to how important is cash flow analysis vis-à-vis profit and loss account in SMEs.
 
He further evidenced the use and benefit of decoding the interactions between cash flow statement, profit and loss account and balance sheet, with a special focus on key cash flow analysis metrics. He emphasized the dire need for the entrepreneurs to be vigilant from time to time about appropriate use and application of cash in their businesses, failing which may lead to mess-up of operations in the long run. The participants expressed their heart-felt thanks to IMT Nagpur and Dr Ramudu for conducting such an enriching and value adding programme that facilitated them understanding and analysing the cash flow statement in a scientific way. The programme was designed in line with the mission statement of VMA to foster dynamic and multifaceted commitment to advancing scientific management education, cultivating a culture of continuous learning, and fostering collaborative networks.
