Centre Point School, Dabha girls and Saraswati Marathi School boys emerged champions of the YMCA organised inter-school football tournament at Rural Police Headquarters ground in Suyog Nagar. In the girls final, Centre Point School, Dabha got the better of formidables St Ursula High School by a solitary goal. The all important goal was scored by Lavanya Kharabe in the 17th minute of play. In boys’ summit clash, Saraswati Marathi School shocked title favourites St John’s High School Mohan Nagar by four goals to one.
St John’s took the lead in the 3rd minute of play through Ojas Sirsat. But Saraswati boys bounced back brilliantly to score four goals. Nayan Mardi (30th), Akash Hasda (36th), Monotosh Kisku (39th) and Lakhan Maranoi (41st) were on target. Rohit Macwan, President, YMCA Nagpur was the chief guest. Other dignitaries present were Vijay Barse, Anil Singh, Treasurer, Niraj Singh, Secretary, Pankaj Bhandarkar, Prashant Bansod, Gitesh Jambhulkar and others were also present.
