After the heavy rainfall last month, sewer lines of Gulistan Colony, Jafar Nagar, got badly damaged. The broken sewer system has been creating havoc in the residential area. Two sewer pipe lines collapsed behind the colony where a huge construction of a flat scheme is going on. As a result all the sewage from the broken pipe lines is getting accumulated at the excavated land on the construction site. This huge pool of dirty sewage has no outlet and is creating a grave health hazard for the citizens.

The accumulated grey water has created a great problem to the health of the residents of this colony. The foul smell of dirty water disturbs the residents all the time. The increasing number of mosquitoes has worsened fear of diseases and Dengue cases are also on rise in the colony.

Gulistan Colony welfare Association, has informed the concerned authorities several times and a delegation of its residents has also met the officers of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC). Some officers have visited the spot but the problem is still unsolved even after one month. The damaged pipeline needs to be repaired in order to stop flow of dirty water, said Muhammad Asadullah, Secretary, Gulistan Colony Welfare Association, hoping authorities take corrective measures.
